We are seeking a full-time Day Shift Lead Hand/Supervisor for our facility located in Kent, Washington. Shifting will be Monday to Friday from 0800-1630, and incidental overtime may be required based on seasonal volumes and customer demand. The Warehouse Supervisor will report to and be required to assist in other duties as assigned by the General Manager to ensure the operational success of the division. The ideal candidate will have Counterbalance Forklift experience, and be familiar with the safe operation of Slip Sheet/Push-Pull attachment, and Single/Double fork attachment equipment sub-types. Carton/bale/roll clamp attachment experience is an asset, but not a requirement for this position.

The candidate should be comfortable with managing and mentoring a team of up to 10 Warehouse Associates under direct purview.

The administrative portion of the Supervisory role will include, but not be limited to:

  • Hiring, interviews and staff sourcing, including orientation and training of new hires, as well as assigning tasks to Associates with follow-up to ensure work is being completed in a safe and productive manner
  • Creating schedules, managing assets based on overall workload, coaching, counseling, and disciplining Associates as needed
  • Communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring and appraising contributions of Associates
  • Recommending compensation actions, and ensuring adherence to Stryder policies and procedures among all Associates

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage daily operations on the Floor with an emphasis on leadership by example.
  • Ensure the team as a whole meets or exceeds productivity and accuracy standards in all functions performed during assigned shift.
  • Ensure complete product accuracy in every order, while maintaining set operational standards, so as to provide quality customer service.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy in our WMS. This includes conducting cycle counts, and validating inventory accuracy.
  • Able to safely lift up to 50lbs; any additional weight is to be lifted with assistance.
  • Operation of counterbalance MHE as required to meet and maintain daily scheduling goals and deadlines.
  • Adhere to the Stryder Distribution Safety Program.
  • Be courteous and respectful to staff members, customers, truck drivers, and outside vendors at all times
  • Other duties as assigned by the General Manager

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years General Warehouse experience, 1 year of which should be experience in a Lead/Supervisory position
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations within a food grade certified environment (GFSI, AIB, HACCP) considered a significant asset
  • Comfortable with computers and technologically inclined – knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) as a baseline
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable personal vehicle transport to and from the facility
  • Valid forklift certification (counterbalance)
